Spearmint belongs to the Lamiaceae family. It is a perennial plant and the shoots
reach a high of 40 to 80 cm, during the flowering. It usually has leaves with
peduncle or without peduncle and with trichomes. Also, its leaves are oblong-
lanceolate. Spearmint is a type of mint which is used as an aromatic in cooking.
However, it has some beneficial properties, mainly as an antispasmodic,
cholagogue and digestive, while at the same time it helps thwart colds.
